Conference Overview

  2020 The Fifth International Conference on Economic and Business Management (FEBM2020) was held on October 17-19, 2020 via online platform due to the pandemic of COVID-19. Online FEBM2020 aims to provide a platform for scholars and researchers from all over the world to share their research achievements, discuss the hot issues and exchange the new experiences and technologies in the field of Economic and Business Management.

  The FEBM2020 online conference was attended by nearly 70 experts and scholars from 6 countries and regions. The conference consisted of three parts: keynote presentations, oral presentations and poster presentations. Professor Xiaoxia Huang, from University of Science and Technology Beijing, China, and Dr. Wenhua Yuan, from Shandong Noraml University, China, presided over the conference.

  We were honored to invite four sophisticated keynote speakers to deliver keynote speeches during the conference.

   Prof. Qiang Wu, our first keynote speaker, from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, USA, delivered a wonderful speech on “The role of social capital in corporate decision-making”.

  In this speech, He talked about how his coauthors and he introduced the social capital concept into the corporate setting and examined how social capital affected various corporate decision-making.

   The second keynote speaker, Prof. Xiaoxia Huang, representing University of Science and Technology Beijing, China, held a speech on “Why uncertain portfolio selection and how does background risk affect portfolio choice?”.

  The lecture introduced a new type of portfolio selection which was called uncertain portfolio selection and discussed why we needed to study the kind of problem.

   The third keynote speaker, Prof. Haoxun Chen, from University of Technology of Troyes, France, gave a speech on “Collaborative Logistics in the E-Commerce Era”.

  In this talk, after introducing different types of collaboration in logistics, important issues for collaborative logistics were addressed, including collaborative planning of transportation operations among shippers or carriers and fair allocation of profit or cost among these actors in a collaborative coalition.

   The fourth keynote speakers, Prof. Liwei Lin, from Zhejiang University of Finance & Economics Dongfang College, China, talked about “Will 5g speeds cause impulsive purchases?”.

  This speech mainly investigated whether the speed of 5G would affect consumers to use the platform and purchase goods more quickly in the electronic shopping mall.

  After keynote presentations, there were 21 orals presentations and 5 poster presentations, oral speakers and poster presenters shared their latest research results with the audience, the audience actively and enthusiastically participated in by asking questions and voting.

  We would like to express our sincere gratitude to the Prof Xiaxia Huang and Dr. Wenhua Yuan, the distinguished keynote speakers, oral speakers as well as all the audiences. This conference has made a big success because of their supports and assistance. We are expecting more and more experts and scholars from around the world to join this international workshop next year.
